Redmi Go, specifications of the Android Go smartphone

Earlier in the week, the first information on Redmi Go was leaked, the first smartphone of the Chinese manufacturer with Android Go. Xiaomi confirmed his arrival in the Philippines, while a local dealer has unveiled all the specifications by mistake. As expected, this is a low-end model, like others belonging to the same category.

The Redmi Go should have a plastic frame (black and blue colors), as is presumed by the images. The hardware includes a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, expandable with microSD cards up to 128 GB. The 5-inch screen has an HD resolution (1280×720 pixels) and therefore a 16: 9 aspect ratio. The frames have a rather evident thickness and in the lower one there are three capacitive buttons.

For the rear camera with LED flash, positioned in the upper left corner, an 8-megapixel sensor and a f / 2.0 aperture lens were chosen. The front camera has instead a 5 megapixel sensor, combined with a lens with aperture f / 2.2. Users will hardly find the advanced features of the more expensive models, such as automatic scene recognition.

Connectivity is guaranteed by the 802.11b / g / n WiFi modules, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and LTE (dual SIM). There are also a micro USB 2.0 port, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a 3,000 mAh battery. Absent the fingerprint reader. The operating system is Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition). The Redmi Go will be available in various Asian countries, including India. It is not known if it will arrive in Europe. As regards the price, a figure of around 70 euros is assumed.
