I do not have four legged friends, but from what I see around me it seems unlikely that a cold robot can replace a dog or a cat, especially on a sentimental and emotional level. These aspects were perhaps not considered in full by the author of the project. However he will rely in the case of market outlet of his contraption on a likely interest from the guys who love weird and modern things.

This drone signed by Sameer Parekh has a different destination than the military because it seeks to offer an object to a company able to do many things and to follow the Lord like a shadow, the same way as Fido. Sure, it doesn’t look you in the eyes, wag its tail and does not manifest affection but in return does some things that dogs cannot do such as recovering click photos or video on the go even if at a certain speed.

The software makes it possible for the Pet AR Drone to automatically follow the person and perhaps to send tweets on Twitter, photos on Facebook or simply to lighten your pockets carrying house keys or anything else. Currently there is only a prototype that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to track the user, while remaining at a safe distance. The author believes so much in the idea and thinks that the drone could replace the pets even in the case of people who are allergic. In the latter case it could happen but I remain skeptical about the plan. The limit will be a fad but it is my humble point of view.
