HTC U12 life, 6-inch screen and dual camera

The Taiwanese manufacturer unveiled the new HTC U12 life during an event organized at IFA 2018 in Berlin. The smartphone is the economic version of the top of the U12 + range, which retains the large screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. Compared to the previous U11 life some aesthetic changes have been made and obviously replaced the processor with a superior model.

Even the new smartphone has a unibody frame in acrylic glass, but HTC has revisited the famous Liquid Surface design, leaving a shiny surface with mirror effect only on the top of the cover. The lower part has a finish with horizontal lines that improve the grip and reduce the likelihood of scratches. The 6-inch screen has a full HD + resolution (2160 x1080 pixels) and covers a larger area due to the reduced thickness of the frames.

The hardware includes an octa core Snapdragon 636 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable with microSD cards. For the dual rear camera 16 and 5 megapixel sensors have been chosen, while the front camera with LED flash has a resolution of 13 megapixels.

Connectivity is guaranteed by the 802.11ac WiFi modules, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and LTE Cat. 11 (600/75 Mbps) with dual SIM support. There are also the fingerprint reader on the back, the 3.5 mm audio jack, the USB Type-C port and the traditional sensor bundle (brightness, proximity, compass, magnetometer, accelerometer and gyroscope). The battery has a capacity of 3,600 mAh.

The operating system is Android 8.1 Oreo. HTC has installed its Sense interface, so users will not benefit from the stock experience of the previous U11 life. The price of the smartphone is 349.00 euros. U12 life will arrive in stores in two colors (Moonlight Blue and Twilight Purple) from the month of October.
