Galaxy Watch Active – Samsung’s New Smartwatch

Galaxy Watch Active could be the name of the new smartwatch from Samsung known until recently as Galaxy Sport.

Galaxy Watch Active would be the name chosen by Samsung for its new sports smartwatch, the one that until recently was known as Galaxy Sport. The indiscretion on this important change of name was shared by AllAboutSamsung who simultaneously shared on Twitter also some renderings of this interesting future smartwatch published in its time by the leaker OneLeaks.

This product does not know many details except that its code is SM-R500 and that will be proposed in the colors Black, Silver, Green and Pink Gold.

Galaxy Watch Active must be seen as the successor to the current and appreciated Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch. Therefore, it would be a product specifically designed for sportsmen. Probable, therefore, that contains some features designed specifically for the sport. Even if not specified, the future Galaxy Watch Active should have the Tizen OS 4 platform.

At the moment there would not be a certain timeline for the debut of this new wearable. However, the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona will be held in a month’s time. Samsung could, therefore, exploit the stage of the Spanish fair to present this new smartwatch.

The source highlights, however, that Galaxy Watch Active would not be the only new wearable coming from Samsung. Surely in the next few weeks we will know more.

What emerges, however, is that Samsung seems to be particularly active in the wearable sector where it is achieving good results thanks to the Tizen OS platform.
