Galaxy Watch Active 2, Samsung confirms 5 August

Samsung confirms that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be announced on August 5th.

Now, it’s official after so many rumors. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be presented next August 5th and not the 7th with the Galaxy Note 10 as initially thought. The announcement comes directly from Samsung through a short teaser video. Many features are already known of this smartwatch and it is a product on which the Korean company aims a lot to counter with Apple Watch decisively.

Galaxy Watch Active 2, will be available in two variants that differ mainly in size and some specifications.

This smartwatch will be offered with a 40 and 44mm case. The larger model will have a 1.4-inch AMOLED circular touch display with 360×360 pixel resolution. Size that second to 1.2 inches for the smaller model. For both the Exynos 9110 SoC, 4GB of storage and 768 MB of RAM. An LTE variant should also be available. In this case the RAM memory should increase to 1.5 GB.

The larger model will also have a 340 mAh battery that drops to 247 mAh in the smaller model. According to rumors, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be characterized by the presence of the Touch Bezel. Basically, the mechanical rotating ring disappears in favor of a similar but touch solution.

Furthermore, ECG support should be present even if it will not be immediately active in all countries where the smartwatch will be marketed. All further details will be discovered next week with the official launch.
