Archos Diamond, smartphone with pop-up camera

Archos will show new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. To avoid the concurrence with other events, the French manufacturer has unveiled in advance all the details on four models of the Diamond and Oxygen series. The most interesting is Archos Diamond with a pop-up camera.

The smartphone has a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with full HD + resolution (2340×1080 pixels) and a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. The 90% larger screen-to-body ratio was achieved by reducing the thickness of the frames and hiding the 8-megapixel front camera in the upper edge. The photo module automatically appears when the user has to take a picture and retracts when the application is closed.

The hardware package also includes a MediaTek Helio P70 octa core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, microSD slot, dual 16 and 5 megapixel rear camera, WiFi modules 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and LTE. The fingerprint reader is in-display. The 3,400 mAh battery supports wireless charging. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port. The operating system is Android 9 Pie. Archos Diamond will be on sale from May to 299 euros.
