AirPods 2: more sensors and audio quality but launch postponed

AirPods 2 will arrive in the spring, support wireless charging of AirPower, will be stuffed with sensors and will have a much better sound quality.

A new rumor reveals that the wireless charging case for the current generation of AirPods will be made available by this spring; therefore, we can reasonably believe that AirPower will also be presented at the same time.

The bad news is that, according to the same sources, AirPods 2 with ‘Hey Siri’ will not be available before next autumn.

This prediction, however, clashes with one that we reported only a few days ago and that saw the launch of AirPods 2 on March 29, along with iPad mini 5 and other trinkets. And to make matters worse there is another vein of rumors that categorically exclude the hardware, in favor of the presentation of Apple News’s All You Can Read news service. In short, something big and imminent is in the air, but at the moment nobody seems able to anticipate the details. What is a Cupertino technique to obfuscate information and confuse the specialized press?
