Kirobo | The humanoid robot in space

This android baptized Kirobo will load in a different mission which will begin in August because of its career path as an astronaut.

Space Mission

In a few weeks it will embark on cargo spacecraft Kounotori 4 heading for the International Space Station (ISS), departing from the Tanegashima Space Center. Once there he has a series of important tasks to perform which will draw in the month of December when Kirobo will begin with the first experiments in space on the dialogue between humans and robots. An adventure novel, anticipated by science fiction films which now begins to take the form of something concrete. The contours are becoming more defined but the road is still long with light and shadow on the path where it could introduce us such an experience.

Ready to talk

Kirobo is a humanoid robot designed to communicate verbally with humans. The project involves RCAST, Robo Garage and TMC, also with the help of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency JAXA. Someone has dealt with the mechanical aspects related to the motion, other hardware, and some software. They all worked in harmony with the aim of establishing a high level design able to meet expectations. These are geared especially to the tune of communication which will see the brand new robot protagonist of a conversation with the master Koichi Wakata whose arrival in the space station is scheduled between November and December. It will be the first experiment of its kind conducted in space which will certainly generate a great curiosity about the media plan.
