Is the Wi-Fi harmful to health?
The Wi-Fi or the IEEE 802.11 protocol on their various releases, which differ in the speed of transmission and the frequencies that are used, allow us to connect to the web without imposing the use of the cable. It’s used for so many things, from internet connection to phones to security systems with wireless options. The wireless therefore, putting it in jargon finally results in inevitable electromagnetic pollution. According to some studies, this field is a very delicate although multiple originated results disagree with each other. The fact remains that some important names, such as the municipality of Paris, has backed down on wireless after realizing projects like the one that involved the installation of 225 hotspots in the capital Paris, museums, libraries, palaces and parks and has presently been blocked. The reason? Symptoms of malaise, nausea and vomiting by people who work in the vicinity of repeaters. These devices, the power of which is variable as a function of the area to be covered, ensure connectivity within few meters from the domestic systems (those that we commonly use in our homes); there are others that are used up to hundreds of meters as regards of outdoor units, used in public places, airports and similar applications.

I’m not a physicist or a doctor, in order to express an objective judgment about the real danger of these waves, but I think that if they were truly harmful, it would be the task of the bodies to inform the public of the risks that they run. This is not the first time that this type of alarms are raised about radio waves of various kinds; similar complaints have been made in the past in countries like the United Kingdom, Germany and Canada, but unfortunately they didn’t give light to these cases.
