Helium S7 Acer Aspire | A touchscreen ultrabook
I spent over a week in contact with the Acer Aspire S7 Helium 11.6″ ultrabook with a touchscreen and I must say the first thing that comes to mind is I never said it would be so convenient. To give you a little background, my two PCs are old, used very much. I bought my MacBook Pro more than five years ago. I used it almost everyday until its death and until I got a new one, a glowing desktop replacement by Asus, a nice mastodon. I never liked the ultrabook and in particular I always looked at it with suspicion. This hybrid laptop breed with the touch screen has always seemed weird to me. Until now that is, because I advance my judgment to the Aspire S7 which is rather positive.
What is a PC that is so compact? The reflection is asking whether the market is now also cannibalized by tablets. Yet the ultrabook is a good buy as it also is a rational device. Let’s take a closer look at this ultrabook.
Acer Aspire S7 Helium is a comfortable and very light ultrabook with a processor and a lively display that is very pleasant to use. Windows 8 integrates well with the experience. Although initially it seems to never feel perfectly comfortable, the feeling fades with the passage of time. Surely this ultrabook is perfect to slip into a backpack or briefcase and is a worthy companion for any commuter or student given the robust aluminum body and the archive storage in the form of SSD.
The components and finishes are those of a premium product that makes heads turn in a public places. It is a fine figure in any situation and it’s all solid to the last detail. Ultimately we are faced with a real king among the ultrabook, a device that has no rivals among those of its size.
