Google with Android are also developing a Smartwatch
The watchword of spring is smart watch. While waiting to see what Apple and Samsung will present, another name that weighs a ton for consumer electronics has decided to take part inn the pipeline for a gadget like this. It’s none other than Google. Google and Android are definitely the two biggest names in the mobile market despite the incredible and enduring success of the company that practically invented the market, Apple. So if Google had a smart watch the markets would tremble because it would find itself directly competing with Cupertino as much as with the enemy / friend Samsung.

Google has made it a point of honor to get the same field of battle that has facilitated the introduction of Android. We have in mind its Nexus tablet and smartphones with the same name, real windows operating system that is originally based on Linux but is able to stand on its own legs. There are even rumors of a possible date for the release on the market of a smart watch by Google but the Financial Times is absolutely certain of the development work which is going on behind the scenes and in secret. As will happen to other similar devices it will support smartphones, not old fashioned sci fi communicator style.

What we want to know most is how Google plans to design smart watch. E-ink as the Pebble or an LCD Display? If it’s the latter, how do you give a decent lifetime with a battery so small? We still know so little. Apple says it will base its fortunes on a design that features curved glass while Samsung will use its “Altius” interface that reminds me a lot of Windows Phone 8. All these, however, remain as speculation.
