Canon EOS 5 Mark III: the semi-pro SLR that aims high

In order to celebrate in the best way the twenty-fifth anniversary of the introduction of the first single-lens reflex camera of its production, Canon comes onto the market with the new EOS 5D Mark II, a sort of connecting link between the present and the awaited EOS1D Mark II. Beyond the resemblance with the previous series, the new full-frame Taiwanese brand conceals much substance beneath the surface that makes it much better than the model that preceded it.It starts from the 22.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, the DIGIC 5 + drive image processor, 61 points autofocus, the optical viewfinder offers 100% coverage (previously it came to 98%), the double slot memory SD card type, the Compact Flash (UDMA 7), and the ISO sensitivity ranging from 50 to 102 400 (between 100 and 25,600 native).

Among other features, we point out the 6 FPS burst mode and the present ubiquitous ability to shoot H.264  films at resolutions up to 1080/30p or 720/60p.Also new is the 3.2-inch LCD display, capable of displaying 1,040,000 points for the average new Canon that really looks a lot like a “pro” machine in all the aspects. The new 5D Mark III will be available in late March for an estimated retail price of $ 3,500 for the camera body
