Archos GamePad 2 is official

Archos insisted again on the gaming segment with the GamePad 2 as defined by the French as a hybrid tablet built for gamers, although in reality there is very little of hybrid as we see that the controls are welded to the sides of the tablet. The change from the first generation are macroscopic for the GamePad. PlayStation Vita remains the main source of inspiration but the d-pad and analogue sticks were made larger and possibly more ergonomic.

In addition to refresh the look there is also a step forward for the internal hardware which went from a dual core Rockchip to a more powerful quad core ARM Cortex A9 GPU also flanked by a quad-core. The manufacturer and model of the SoC were not specified. There is also a growing amount of RAM, 2GB now, the battery capacity which was defined as larger than that used in the typical 7-inch tablet and the type of screen which makes a jump on the 1280 × 800 IPS panel.
