5 UK Tech Companies at the 2016 Queen’s Awards

Her Royal Majesty recently celebrated her 90th birthday and she also awarded 243 businesses, from start-ups to top UK industries, during the annual Queen’s Awards, an event that has been celebrated for 50 years, on her birthday. Among the chosen firms, UK tech companies made it to the list.

Morgan Innovation & Technology

Based in Hampshire, this business has been known for manufacturing innovative products for commercial and medical industries, with a radio frequency equipment for pain management, being its most successful inventions. Making waves in the international scene, about 90 percent of the firm’s revenues is from their exports.

Queens Awards

TestPlant

This firm made it to the list as one of the innovators in software development. CEO George Mackintosh was ecstatic of their achievement, having been included for the third time and he is looking forward to the possibility of the UK being the leader in software development in the world. They develop eggPlant, software testing tools, used in functional and performance testing.

M Squared Lasers

When it comes to quantum technology, which is considered to be the catalyst of new generation applications, this firm is not far behind. In fact, it won the category “Enterprise: Innovation”, one of the three categories. Its founder and CEO, Dr. Graeme Malcolm OBE talked about what quantum technology promises and is also hopeful that Britain will be a global leader in this sector.

Condeco

Since its inception 11 years ago, the firm has become successful in the workplace management sector. CEO Paul Statham expressed that the company was always focused in innovation and addressing the challenges businesses have to contend with because of the evolving technology and the changes digital revolution undergoes.

CommAgility

Also a winner of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Innovation, this wireless technology company has come up with a module on 4G wireless communications which earned the firm the award. In 2013, CommAgility was also included in the list of awardees in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in International Trade.
